Lodi Hill House

I love this place! It's interesting with a great history and a museum. Beautiful handmade woodwork and big airy rooms that are unpretentious and fascinating as if a family has lived here recently. I like the art I love the kitchen with its cool tile. the backyard is fenced and dog friendly. I've gotten into a little medical tourism thing coming to lodi the night before total knee replacement surgery at Adventist health. I go to watch the cranes fly in at sunset. Then I go to the brick and have homemade pasta to do some carb loading for the surgery ahead. and cool out for the evening and tool over to the hospital, which is very close. I came back after surgery to rest for an hour before we drove home. The owner, Jane, is smart and interesting and so accessible we really appreciate her and we will be coming back to visit even though the surgeries are all done! Really love it.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Hill House. Jane is a wonderful host. The house is a lovely historic home, with beautifully appointed woodwork and furnishings. The yard is totally fenced for our pup to be outside. Jane is extremely thoughtful and accommodating and obviously wants her guests to be happy,which we were!

The Hill House in Lodi is truly a magical place. Upon arrival, we felt like we had been transported back to the early 1900’s. The house and spacious grounds have been beautifully and lovingly maintained. Our accommodations were comfy and quiet… perfect, in fact!, and the place doubles as a museum. The furniture and furnishings are fun to study - brilliant craftsmanship and almost everything is in excellent condition. I don’t believe that the furniture has changed much from the early years. Jane, our host, was one of the best. She immediately helped us feel right at home and gave us a quick tour and a mini history lesson about Lodi and this beautiful Victorian. We are already planning our next visit so we can explore the town and delta region - an area with a vibrant culture and rich history. Hill House and Lodi are a must stop on your Highway 99 road trip.

We had such a wonderful stay at Hill House in Lodi! My husband and I were just in town for the night, exploring the area for its vineyards and vistas. Jane is an incredible hostess; she is so very friendly and warm, and clearly full of love for this historic home. The house is filled with enchanting treasures that visitors are welcome to gently interact with (rare books, family mementos, letters); it feels very much alive, as if you were being hosted by a 20th century family of considerable wealth and generosity. The kitchen is fully stocked and ideal for long-term stays, the grounds are gorgeous, the location is perfect for walking to all the charms of downtown Lodi, and everything is meticulously cared for; beds comfortable, towels fluffy and fresh, all cosy but grand. It’s not a modern hotel, but it’s superbly unique, and we feel so lucky to have stayed here. We cannot recommend it enough.

We had a terrific stay at The Hill House in October 2025. It’s a beautiful vintage historic building with lots of character, complete with period furniture and rustic charm. The Hill House was truly wonderful. I usually like to book places that have the “feel” of the area, instead of a room that could be anywhere in the US. This beautifully maintained, historic home was perfect. Jane was a wonderful host! The location was perfect, a short walk to the old town area. Hill House B&B in Lodi is an absolute gem! This charming spot is not only adorable but also impeccably clean. The attention to detail in the decor adds to its cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The hosts are friendly and accommodating, making sure every guest feels at home. Whether you're in town for wine tasting or just a relaxing getaway, this B&B is a perfect choice. Highly recommend!

We were delighted to stay in this beautiful historic victorian home with our dog. The landscaping outside is stunning, our dog loved playing fetch in the big backyard. Jane gave us a warm welcome and a house tour. The driveway is gated and the neighborhood is quiet and we felt very secure with items left in our vehicle since we are on a cross-country road trip. The house is conveniently located walking distance to many shops and restaurants, we loved visiting Dancing Fox Winery for dinner. We would absolutely stay here again!
